AQUIFER

An aquifer is an underground layer sufficiently porous and permeable to contain groundwater. It is often associated to an overlying impermeable layer. Aquifer storage is a technique recreating a geological equivalent to a natural gas field by injecting gas into the layer of porous and permeable rock which used to contain water.
