A FIRST IN SWITZERLAND - Directional drilling in Givisiez (FR) and insertion of a tube in a tube

Technological feat in Givisiez with a 720-meter long directional drilling and the insertion of a 16-inch pipe in a 24-inch pipe.

When technological innovation serves safety: pulling a pipe into a pipe may seem simple at first glance, but it is a real technological feat whose objective is to reduce the risks associated with the crossing of an industrial zone by a high-pressure gas pipeline.

The genesis of the project: the Givisiez project originated in 2010 with the revision of the Ordinance on Protection against Major Accidents (OPAM). Gilles Verdan, Network Director at Gaznat, sheds light on the origin of the project, in particular the major changes that this new ordinance generates for the gas industry, by means of the first of a series of videos made on this construction site, which is new in Switzerland.

More information on the project in our new "Innovation" section.
