Security
infrastructures

A reliable network,
monitored 24 hours a day.

Safety is a top priority for Gaznat. Every meter of pipe is inspected, maintained and upgraded to the highest standards. The network is constantly monitored by our surveillance center, and inspections are carried out every two weeks.

Our preventive maintenance program includes:

  • Aerial inspection by helicopter every two weeks
  • Control using drones and ground sensors
  • Systematic reinforcement of sensitive areas (crossings, embankments, construction sites)

Controls and alerts

Gaznat applies and anticipates the measures defined by the Swiss Confederation in the event of tension on the gas network. Gradual alert protocols guarantee continuity of service, while reducing consumption when necessary.

Consumption alert

Triggered in the event of abnormally high demand or a prolonged cold spell. Gaznat informs its partners and customers about best practices for reducing consumption and ensuring network balance.

Network alert

Triggered when a segment of the infrastructure encounters an incident or suffers a technical constraint. This alert enables flows to be redirected and technical interventions to be optimized.

Production alert

Active when main supply sources suffer a critical interruption or drop. It involves reinforced stock monitoring and immediate coordination with suppliers.

When gas runs out

The four levels of action in the event of a gas shortage.

In the event of a shortage, four progressive actions are implemented to guarantee priority supply: a call for savings, fuel switching, administrative measures and imposed restrictions on use. These steps are designed to preserve essential uses and network security.

Environmental responsibility

Taking concrete action to reduce the impact of our activity.

Gaznat integrates sustainability at every stage: low-footprint monitoring technologies, decarbonization pilot projects, voluntary emissions offsetting and a strong commitment to soil conservation when building new infrastructures.

The infrastructure that carries our energy.

Gaznat operates a high-pressure network serving the whole of Western Switzerland. Every stage, from supply to distribution, is designed to ensure reliability, safety and flow control.
