Gaznat and EPFL strengthen their partnership in energy innovation

Gaznat and EPFL strengthen their partnership in energy innovation.

Gaznat and EPFL have enjoyed a long-standing strategic collaboration, with the aim of developing a cluster of expertise around the development of new sources of liquid and gaseous renewable energy.

A new framework agreement was signed in December 2024, to enable new calls for projects to be put in place.

The new Gaznat-EPFL research program will support two categories of projects: "exploratory" projects aimed at developing prototypes that can be concretely deployed within Gaznat's Innovation Lab, and "seed" projects aimed at describing and characterizing promising technologies that can be developed to reach a higher TRL level.

The Gaznat-EPFL research program will support projects in the following areas:

  • Advanced separation technologies
  • Production of synthetic and renewable gases and liquids
  • Energy efficiency
  • Energy storage
  • Capture, use and storage of CO2
  • Impact of various molecules on pipe materials
  • Artificial intelligence in energy
  • Other topics deemed relevant by the Scientific Committee.

The first call is now open, and proposals can be submitted until August 21, 2025.

Detailed information on how to apply can be found on the EPFL website.
