Mechanic

Your role

You will help maintain more than 600 kilometers of infrastructure within our network. Specifically, you will be responsible for installing and commissioning new natural gas infrastructure and maintaining our mechanical equipment. You will support the Network Department’s objective, which is central to Gaznat’s mission: ensuring a secure and sustainable supply for Western Switzerland.

Your day-to-day work will revolve around several key tasks:

  • Maintain the mechanical equipment fleet for Gaznat’s entire transportation network;
  • Perform corrective maintenance;
  • Participate in on-call duty;
  • Participate in infrastructure renovation projects, including the design, planning, and implementation phases;
  • Perform the assembly and commissioning of workstations, including the assembly of mechanical parts and material-handling operations;
  • Assist with equipment management (maintenance, tools, order fulfillment, inventory management, etc.).

Your profile

Do you enjoy the variety of tasks, hands-on and technical work, and finding solutions on a daily basis? If so, this position is for you.

What we're looking for (and why):

  • A few years of professional experience in assembly, commissioning, or maintenance, so that you can quickly work independently on the various tasks you will be assigned.
  • A recognized vocational degree (CFC or equivalent) in the field of mechanics (construction equipment mechanic, agricultural machinery mechanic, multi-trade mechanic, etc.) to ensure a solid technical foundation for working on our equipment.
  • A solid understanding of general mechanics, ideally supplemented by knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics, as well as a strong interest in technology and its evolution.
  • A sense of responsibility, organizational skills, attention to detail, and initiative, to plan and monitor priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • A strong sense of teamwork and flexibility, as well as the ability to work independently, with flexibility and ease in collaborating with others, particularly during larger projects or job sites.
  • Good spoken English or German skills, to communicate with non-French-speaking external service providers.
  • Driver's licenses, as our facilities are located throughout Western Switzerland.
  • Residence within a 30-minute radius of our monitoring center in Aigle, in order to participate in the on-call duty.
